Take your best shot in the 7th Annual Kolacky Days Photo Contest, highlighting the memories and fun activities of the Kolacky Days celebration that is sponsored by the Montgomery Area Community Club. Please consider entering a photo or more!
Traditional Czech Dress – Snap a photo of children, families, or adults dressed in traditional Czech Dress.
Kolacky Days Parade – Capture the experience of the 85th Annual Kolacky Days parade.
Activities & Events of Kolacky Days – Document a fun memory of one of Kolacky Day’s events. “Czech Out” the Kolacky Days brochure for the various events from the weekend.
Food Art – A picture is worth 1000 words or calories. Take a photo of one of the many food or drink options available to you at Kolacky Days, either Downtown Historic Montgomery or in the heart of Memorial Park.
Photos by Youth – Budding photographers age 17 and younger, can submit photos of their favorite moments of the weekend.
Contest Rules & Registration
Photographers of all ages are eligible to enter the contest. No entry fee required. Youth participants (ages 17 and younger) must provide a parent or guardian signature and consent with each photo submission.
All entries must be submitted by Friday, August 14, 2020 by 11:59 PM CST.
Photos (Digital Preferred) must be unpublished, at least be 4 x 6 and no larger than 8 x 10 if received by hard copy, if the image from the digital camera must have at least 3 mega pixels high resolution, or if its scanned it must be either a JPG or PNG format at a file size between 2 megabytes (minimum) and 6 megabytes (maximum) at 300 dpi (dots per inch) of sufficient resolution to print a 8 x 10 without a loss of quality. Hard copy photos will NOT be returned so please send a copy if needed. If submitting an image or scanned copy, please name the file your first and last name followed by the contest category and photo name (i.e. JohnDoe_FoodArt_CzechMealDeal)
Photos must be taken within or near Montgomery, MN during the Kolacky Days celebration between July 23, 2020 and July 26, 2020.
All entries require the category name in which the photo is being submitted for. Entries not listing a category will be disqualified. Photos featuring inappropriate content will not be considered.
By submitting, you agree that you have taken the photo submitted and have received consent for submission and publication from all subjects shown in each photo. Submitted photos may be used at the discretion of the Montgomery Area Community Club, including and not limited to, websites, social media outlets, print and online publications, marketing, media requests, public displays, etc.
By taking part in the contest, photographers give the Montgomery Area Community Club consent for unlimited usage rights of any images submitted. There will be no credit or compensation given (aside from awards to the winners) to the photographer, the person submitting the photos or any people depicted in the photos.
Additionally, submitters of any winning photographs also give the Montgomery Area Community Club consent to use their name in any announcement or promotion of the contest and its winners.
Members of the Executive Board of Montgomery Area Community Club are not eligible to enter
Montgomery Area Community Club is not responsible for any lost or misdirected entries.
Individuals submitting more than one photo are eligible to win more than one contest category per year.
Submissions should be dropped off or mailed to the Montgomery Area Community Club office at 206 1st St. S, Montgomery, MN 56069 with them marked ‘Photo Contest” or emailed to email@example.com.
People's Choice Award Winners
Photos will be judged by the Montgomery Area Community Club Executive Board. All photos will be judged on impact, image quality, compositions and storytelling effect for how well they capture and represent Kolacky Days. First, second, and third place winners will be determined in each contest category. A People’s Choice Award will be decided by public vote on the Kolacky Days Facebook page following the judging of first, second, and third place winners.
Each contest category will have a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place Winner. An overall people’s choice will also be chosen. The following is the award schedule:
First Place: $25 Monty Bucks
Second Place: $15 Monty Bucks
Third Place: $10 Monty Bucks
People’s Choice Award Winner: $25 Monty Bucks
